Hello supporters of male teachers,

MenTeach has been contacted by ABC Good Morning America to talk with a
male teacher who was falsely accused of harming children and either
continues to teach or has left the field.

If you know of a man who is willing to talk about what happened, please
have him contact me - let him know that there would be the option that
he can be taped anonymously (you've seen the television shows where the
person remains hidden by having them with no lights).

Obviously talking about this experience is challenging for any man (and
his family and friends) that was falsely accused. Keep in mind that
anytime you interact with the media, there are no guarantees - for
example, he might be interviewed for 1/2 hour and then ABC will only
show 30 seconds of the interview.

Therefore, we are looking for a man with certain characteristics.

The key characteristic of the man would be:

1) He was cleared of all charges and there are no pending legal actions;

2) He is able to talk about the issue and isn't seeking revenge against
the school or program where it happened;

3) He continues to care about the teaching profession and wants to make
a difference for other male teachers.

MenTeach's goal in cooperating with ABC is to find a man that will be
able to talk about one of the challenges that all men face as teachers
without sensationalizing the issue and overemphasizing a part of the
what men and women deal with as teachers.

And of course, they want to tape the man in the next two weeks.

If you know of someone, please have them contact me via the MenTeach
e-mail: bgnelson at menteach.org

Thanks for your help!

Regards,

Bryan
