As male teachers in Oklahoma, we must find a healthier balance between protecting students and preserving genuine human connection, which is vital for educators to feel valued and effective. We know from both research and everyday experience that appropriate, caring interaction helps children feel safe, regulate emotions and build trusting relationships. Kids learn better when they know someone cares about them, not just academically, but emotionally.
